description:

This layer (Biological Resource Areas) is part of the 2005 General Plan update and associated EIR for the City of San Bernardino. This data was provided by The Planning Center as part of the November 2005 General Plan Update for the City of San Bernardino. It was titled "env_resource". The General Plan Update and associated EIR was adopted in November 1, 2005 by the City Council. The base data for this GIS layer was originally hand-drawn maps referred to as the "Detail City Maps". These maps were photographed and re-output in a different size, unfortunately the photographer didn't seem to understand edge-matching or civil engineering maps and they were distorted. The new maps were made available for scanning and then vectorized. The data was then rubber-sheeted in order to create a set of cohesive city wide layers. The accuracy of the layers inside this layer is bassed on this data thus is not useful for engineering purposes.
